2021: In Pictures

Index

31 December 2021: Last Walk of 2021
I woke up early and felt motivated to get outdoors. 7.5 miles through Backworth, Holywell and Seaton Delaval was a perfect way to round off the year.

30 December 2021: Giraffe Picture
Julie painted this and David had it mounted for us for Christmas. I'm glad to be able to replace the picture which was previously there as I didn't particularly like it.

29 December 2021: Soggy Matfen
I always like to jump on any opportunity for a walk somewhere different, so when Noirin was playing organ at a funeral I headed out into the countryside around Matfen. It rained heavily and I got soaked, but that's all just part of the fun.

28 December 2021: House Scratcher
Sally's Christmas present arrived and was promptly put together by me. So far she has shown no interest in it whatsoever.

27 December 2021: Northumberlandia
Even though this is just down the road I think this is only the second time I've been. This is the view from the left eye over the nose and boobs.

26 December 2021: Hedgehogs
Noirin's new slippers this year are sweet little hedgehogs.

25 December 2021: Roast Lamb
With Sarah at work we didn't do a big Christmas dinner today, but we did use the opportunity to have some beautiful roast lamb.

24 December 2021: Bluey Check
We visited Mam and Chris for nibbles and to exchange Christmas presents but obviously I had to check in on how Bluey is doing this year. Everything seems well with him!

23 December 2021: Visitor
Some people say that a robin is a visitor from the other side, and today I'm choosing to believe that.

22 December 2021: Dirty Seedy Tory Guy
I'm sure this could be applied to a lot of politicians.

21 December 2021: Festive Crisps
This is about as festive as I've gone in terms of food so far this year.

20 December 2021: Fallen Trees
The damage from the recent storm is still evident in any wooded area nearby.

19 December 2021: Brainshaugh Priory
I admired this from a distance on a walk between Felton and Guyzance. I would've loved a chance to look closer and explore but unfortunately it was walled off.

18 December 2021: Happy Holly Days
I'm getting the opportunity to spend more time with Holly lately, which is great for me and hopefully lots of fun for her too.

17 December 2021: Moderna
I went to the White Swan Centre to get the booster that I booked the other day. They were dishing out Moderna today, and it was a pretty efficient setup.

16 December 2021: Custom Nikes
My Christmas present to myself is these Nike trainers, designed to my very own specification.

15 December 2021: Twelve Steps
This board has been in my shed for a year and a half so it was time to return it to the live step meeting.

14 December 2021: Bigg Skies
The sunset was so pretty tonight that even the Bigg Market looked lovely!

13 December 2021: Booster Queue
I went online to book my Covid booster vaccination and was a bit alarmed by the size of the queue, but it went down very quickly.

12 December 2021: Whittle Dene
While Noirin played the organ at church this morning in Ovingham, I took a walk through the nearby Whittle Dene.

11 December 2021: Stepping Stones
I went for a walk around Ladyburn Lake in Druridge Bay Country Park with Noirin. This stepping stones were thankfully sturdy, because the swans were a bit close for comfort.

10 December 2021: Christmas Jumper Day
I decided to take part in the festivities this year in my own style... with a sweater vest.

9 December 2021: Tidy Garden
We got a man with a van to come and remove all the rubbish from our garden so it looks loads bigger and tidier now!

8 December 2021: Sallyport Tower
After work I went for a 3 mile walk around Newcastle to see parts of the city walls that are still standing.

7 December 2021: Hand Warmth
I'm not sure it's possible for my hands to ever be completely warm but these should bring me a bit closer.

6 December 2021: Wooden Tree
Some decorations we bought from the George Street Christmas Market, made by our friends!

5 December 2021: Stamfordham
After Brenda cooked us a lovely Sunday lunch I had time for a short walk around Stamfordham.

4 December 2021: Newcastle 1-0 Burnley
I was nervous to take Noirin to her first match in case she hated it, but my concerns were unfounded as we both had a blast! Clearly she brought good luck as well because winning is a rare thing these days.

3 December 2021: Bigg Lights
The Bigg Market lights don't look very impressive in daylight.

2 December 2021: Family Meal
I met my family for a meal at the King's Arms, which was a nice way to spend my day off.

1 December 2021: Quayside at Night
Going to a midweek live AA meeting was a lovely chance to go for a walk to pass the waiting time after finishing work.
